On the morning of the 9/11 attack of the WTC, Expedition 3 commander, Frank Culbertson was aboard the International Space Station. He was orbitting the Earth over New York City, when he captured this video recording his thoughts of the world changing beneath him.
Not long after witnessing the destruction from the attack, Culbertson had this to say, per NASA:

"It's horrible to see smoke pouring from wounds in your own country from such a fantastic vantage point. The dichotomy of being on a spacecraft dedicated to improving life on the earth and watching life being destroyed by such willful, terrible acts is jolting to the psyche, no matter who you are."

I'm a HUGE Hello Kitty fan!! (We even share the same Bday)... I'm not really sure how I feel about these plush Hello Kitty / Reebok PT-20 HI collabo though. I'm kind of on the fence about these. However if I had to choose, I'd go for the pink ones. Ok, fine they are pretty FRESH! They just grew on me as I'm typing. Well now that I got past the convincing myself that I like them, I will now convince myself why I need them. Because I don't own a plush sneaker yet... only leather, jean, hemp, pony hair and plastic (invisible womens), surely these sneakers are the missing link to my happiness (kidding). It's like wearing a stuffed animal on your feet, who wouldn't want to wear a stuffed animal on their feet??!! These sneakers are as magical as unicorns and lisa frank stickers! I must have them!
Wait... How do I know they're not just gonna add to the many sneakers that sit in the darkness of my closet because my fear of wearing them out and getting them dirty? No matter how hard you try to not get them dirty some asshole will step on them... and sometimes I'm the very asshole that will step on my own foot or trip over something and permanently scuff them. Maybe even end up somewhere muddy and have so much fun I forgot I was wearing them! Think of how nasty they'd look all muddy! Like a dogs ass full of dingle berries... that's how. After much thought I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off without them.

I posted a strange short video a while back when these unknown videos first started, and now they have become much longer music videos, I am even more obsessed than the first time I came across this. Turns out these videos that I have been feverishly watching over and over again were directed by Viktor Kumlin featuring singer/songwriter Jonna Lee. The tracks are said to be produced by claes björklund It was there own secret little project. I love the music, and the way they were filmed. Absolutely beautiful.

The night began by walking into a warehouse where a fire show was put on by our friend Flambeaux and his team. We were then led into a room that made music all on its own with no human interaction, and given a map to find several party warehouses, all in separate locations.

We partied with glow in the dark limbo feigns, painted on walls, watched a man carve the devil out of a huge block of ice, climbed into a spaceship with pandora-like tranced humans, danced to Egypt Lover & Afrika Bambaataa, climbed through honey combs, explored a ton of different rooms... basically it was one of those nights where you just HAD TO BE THERE!

(I know corny!)...Complete with several ramps, a hand glide off of a fake tree, a music studio, a t-rex racing car, and every other grown ass kid's fantasy! Lucky for me, I got to experience first hand why they call it "The Fantasy Factory"!
Unfortunately I was rocking the heels, cause DC had me looking sexy ; )

Could it be possible? After years of traveling back from Dominican Republic, and smuggling in a suitcase filled with Dominican products only available in D.R. such as haircare, rum, cigars, and everyone's favorite...MAMAJUANAS, there has finally been an answer! Thanks to Kenyatta Bell and Alex Jimenez of Palo products, dominican smugglers such as myself can now have more room in our maleta ("suitcase" for my non-spanish speaking homies) for silicon mix, jugs of brugal, barcelo, montecristo and cohiba cigars!

The bottles I'm use to carrying back home, usually look like they were bottled up in some campo (farm), by someone's abuelita (grandma), filled with branches, herbs, and other questionable substances. Palo Mamajuana's however, comes in a nice bottle like the one above, making it much more appealing to my friends, when I ask them to try some mamajuanas. Usually they look at me like I'm crazy.

This product promises to give you the same results, such as all natural energy and some say even an aphrodisiac...I don't know if this is true, because for as long as I've been drinking mamajuanas, it's been mixed with rum, so I can't say if it's the rum or the mamajuanas? However, I want to send a big 2 thumbs up, and all that good stuff to the newest makers of "made from the best stuff on earth", Ken & Alex, Thanks guys! Can't wait to see what you come up with next! I ROCKED OUT at the XBOX event for Guitar Hero, and Call of Duty!! The party was chilly chill, and quite ill. It was great to catch up with all my fellow influential latinos, along with all the other fabulous people of NYC! I lost at Guitar Hero, only because I was P.U.I, (playing under the influence). By the way, when free drinks are involved, there are no losers, so it doesn't count! Call of Duty is soooo fresh! I can't wait to get both games ; )!! I even met one of the guys that designed my new favorite game, "You're in the movies"...I was even fortunate enough get a quick preview of that, earlier in the week, (video coming soon)!!

One night while dining with friends at a small Indian restaurant in the East Village, I noticed a creepy light display. The place is completely covered in lights of every color, every holiday...Pretty bugged out. The rotating light display on our table was seriously eerie...
I took pictures of it, and even blogged about it in the past.
New York is filled with so many diverse people, yet one thing that every new yorker has in common, is a story of 9/11. Every Big Apple dweller can vividly remember where they were when we lost America's favorite twins.

"The Big Bird Cage"

Here's a 1972 sexploitation film worth taking a look at. Director Jack Hill followed up "The Big Doll House" with "The Big Bird Cage" which has a lot of action, character and intentional humor, (some of it at the expense of Homosexuals). The film stars Anitra Ford, star of many exploitation films and model on 'The Price is Right'. This bizarre film also stars the Beautiful Miss Pam Grier, One of my favorite baddest bitches of the 70's!

Not only is the United States headed into another great depression, but there is also a rapid decline in good quality men. I could go on and on, about the "dry like toast" dates I've been on. Sooooo...I am officially no longer dating. Forget about sex too, I've pretty much given up on that months ago, (again due to the lack of mind stimulating men). Needless to say though, I can't help but feel a bit sexually frustrated!

It's not many people that can say they know me, from back when I was new to the game. At the bottom of the hill working my way up. My friend B.J de Guzman knows what I'm talking about. We met back when he was up at Azzure, now Mr. Guzman is currently rocking with one of the illest female lingerie line, Little Hill. I'm such a huge fan of the line!! It's not the typical same crap that you see in every store, and it's definitely not for your typical girl either.

For a while I was starting to feel there is nothing out there, that really represents girls like me. You know, we rock the illest sneakers by day, sexy gucci heels by night. I have a mean walk, and my skateboard is my favorite source of transportation. I'm sweet, but don't cross me, cause my tongue will slice you. There is nothing more enjoyable to me than to be lounging around in a comfy camisole, and sexy boy shorts while I plan to take over the world. We're not your average chicks. So it's only right that I'm not wearing your average gear underneath.

XBOX is the sh*t! A few months back, Xbox blessed the kid with a limited edition (as in only 500 made!) GTAIV Xbox 360, along with a suitcase filled with every accessory you could think of to accommodate all of my gaming needs! Yezzzzir!

From hosting tv shows, filming movies, special appearances, free lance writing, along with a dozen other things I do everyday...One can get a bit WASHED. I've had a pretty good year so far, and so I thought I'd reward myself with a beautiful vacation to the precious island where I'm from...That's right La Bella Isla Quisqueya, Dominican Republic.
Here are a few pics I took at this lovely outdoor restaurant in Boca Chica.
The food was delicious, the view was heavenly, and best of all you could take a dip while you wait for your food, or after you eat. I did both.

Ok so this is my first blog...It's so exciting, kind of like when you get a brand new notebook, fresh start. The first page, you can't wait to write...Yet you're unsure about what to start off with, but you know the first thing you write, it gotta be dope.

So...I guess I should start off by introducing myself...I go by the name of Stephanie Ortiz aka Dulce. I'm Dominican. Born and raised in Washington Heights, NYC. I lived part of my life in Jersey (I know irrelevant, but I gotta show love to Dirty Jerz, after all it's still a part of me).

Some of you might know me or not, some might of heard of me or not, some might have seen me on t.v., or not...Either way, you're about to find out...

I started out modeling when I was 15 with Click Models. I appeared in various print ads, and commercials such as Dr. Pepper & Levis. Then I grew an interest in television. Which became my newfound hustle. I worked on the Mun2 network as the Ny location host for "The Roof"...I had a great time with them and learned a lot about what goes into a television production. I then proceeded to work on SiTv's "Styleyes NY" & "Styleyes Miami". During the perfecting of my craft as an actress, writer and comedian. I started working on comedy skits with my boy Daniel Hastings for Boriqua Morena & Times Square Comedy Jumpoff. We put together some dvds, which floated around and landed in the hands of Jimmy Love & Andre Harell of Uptown Records (where Diddy was once an intern). They liked what they saw and added me to their team to be a part of their morning show pilot for Hot 97 alongside Dj Clark Kent (One of the illest djs and one of my favorite producers). Although the show never made it to the air, this sparked my curiosity in radio. Lucky for me, I just so happened to be really good friends with Lboogs (of Mtv3 & currently Hot97), who at the time was a radio personality at La Kalle 105.9fm. He gave me the heads up about the open position to be a Radio Personality on La Kalle. I put together a demo that night, sent it in, and got a reply from Alix Quintero, then PD. A month later I was on the air. I started off doing overnights from 12am-6am. Then weekends from 10am-2pm. My radio dream came true, but was short lived. The highlight of my radio career was hosting a concert at Shea Stadium in front of 40,000 people. That was such an intense rush for me to hear the roar of new york latinos in the air. I swear I felt it in my heart. To this day, I still feel it every time I reminisce.

After working at La Kalle, I got the opportunity to star 2 seasons in the tv show "American Latino TV" on My9. Showcasing Latinos making power moves, such as artists, actors, comedians, you name it. You can still catch me there every sunday at 4m on channel 9.

This January I was blessed to star in a movie directed by Ricardo Sean Thompson, alongside Judy Marte, Manny Perez, Gleendilys Inoa, & Micheal Rivera in "A Kiss of Chaos". I play the role of Tiffany. It's gonna be one of those legendary independent films. Be sure to look it up when it drops next year. Also look out for Rik Cordero's "Inside a Change" another movie that I was fortunate to be a part of.

And that basically wraps up most of the important events in my career. So hopefully that sums up what you needed to know about me. As for the future, the sky is the limit.
